Document ICE Activity

If you see ICE in your area or witness them staging an arrest action or making an arrest be sure to document it. Use the SALUTE protocol: SIZE (How many agents are there?), ACTIONS (What are they doing?), LOCATION (What address or street are they on?), UNIFORMS (What are they wearing?), TIME (When is this happening?), EQUIPMENT (What weapons or vehicles do they have?). Be sure that your reporting is accurate.

Report the activity to the Stop ICE Mobile Alert Network and sign up for text alerts on future ICE activity. More information on reporting and signing up can be found below.


  1. Text “JOIN” to 877-322-2299, you will receive a reply within a few minutes prompting you to reply with the City, State, and Zip Code you want to receive alerts for.

  2. Reply with the area for which you want to receive alerts of ICE activity. For example if you want alerts for ICE activity near Houghton reply, “Houghton, Michigan, 49931”

  3. You will now receive alerts for ICE activity near your chosen area. By default you will receive a text if there is ICE activity reported within 40 miles of your chosen area.

  4. Once you have signed up for alerts you can change your alert settings by logging into the account created for you at www.stopice.net. Your username and password are provided in the second reply text when signing up.


  5. By default you will receive notifications for ICE activity reported within 40 miles of your location but this can be increased up to 100 miles. You can also opt in to email alerts and change what kinds of alerts you receive text messages for.
